The Top 5 Most Adorable Bunny Cartoons

Rabbits / Monday, December 3rd, 2018

mickey mouse on a pianoOkay, so this is a tough list. There are many heavy-hitting bunnies out there, busting scales with their mega levels of cuteness. But we’re cutting right down to the nitty gritty. We’ve isolated five of the world’s cutest rabbits imaginable, in cartoon form – and we hope you agree!

5. The White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland

Okay, so our number 5 is a bit left-field, but the ever-nervous but always business-like White Rabbit who kicks off Alice’s adventures with his exclamation of “I’m late! I’m late!” is hard not to love. Drawn by various illustrators, we love the versions of the White Rabbit with a little yellow waistcoat, adorned with little red hearts.  And of course, the pocket watch that he just can’t stop looking at. We just want to give him a big hug and tell him it’ll all be okay.

4. Bugs Bunny from Warner Brothers Cartoons

The biggest bunny in the Looney Tunes line-up, Bugs Bunny started his career in 1940! He’s a cheeky character who has pretty much tormented Elmer Fudd for 70 years. We think he’s as big as Mickey Mouse – and that’s saying something. Bugs Bunny is also the only cottontail on our list with his own star on the Walk of Fame! Not bad for a bunny!

3. Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh

Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh can come across uptight and controlling, but at heart, all he wants is the best for his friends. Rabbit likes to be in control and take the lead, but bless him, things don’t always work out the way he plans. The Disney adaptation makes him even more controlling and short-tempered than he is in A.A.Milne’s original books, but his care for his companions remains. Rabbit might be difficult sometimes, but he is one bunny we’d always like to have on our side.

2. Peter Rabbit from Beatrix Potter’s Tales

Naughty Peter Rabbit is the most mischievous on our list.  He is constantly naughty, doing the opposite of what his mum says and endangering his own life in the process by badgering the murderous gardener Mr McGregor – but that fetching blue waistcoat and those cute little black slip-ons he leaves behind are enough to melt our hearts, leaving a Peter Rabbit-shaped hole.

1.Thumper from Bambi

As part of possibly the most devastating cartoon of all time, cheerful little Thumper is a breath of fresh air. Jumping about and genuinely being thrilled by spring (and getting completely ‘twitterpated’ by his rather attractive female bunny friend), he teaches Bambi to speak, does lots of joyful thumping of his feet and generally just stirs our spirits. Full marks!
